Nestled between the Escambray Mountains and the Caribbean Sea, Trinidad enjoys a phenomenal location. Bobbing in the azure waters of Playa Ancón , just 12 km from the city center, it’s easy to understand why sugar barons decided to set up shop in Trinidad.

Founded in 1514 by Conquistador Velázquez , Trinidad – with its colonial baroque architecture and quaint, pastel-colored houses with red tiled roofs – feels like it’s cast in amber. Just wandering the narrow cobblestone streets and absorbing the colonial atmosphere is a memorable travel experience.

Among the handful of museums in Trinidad, Museo Romántico stands out. It overlooks the town’s main square, the Plaza Mayor and features an excellent exhibition of romantic style porcelain, glass, paintings and decorative furniture, dating from 1830.

The Museo Histórico Municipal (also called Casa Cantero) is another interesting museum explaining the extraordinary history of the region. Probably one of the most photographed towers of Trinidad is the former 18th-century Convento de San Francisco .

Trinidad’s nightlife is a manageable mix of places to dance and hear traditional music. One popular place is La Canchánchara. Housed in a mansion dating from 1723, it’s named after a regional drink made from lemon juice, honey and rum, served in glazed ceramic pots. Meanwhile, the terrace of the Casa de la Música is a great place to enjoy a beer or a mojito under the sun or dancing to a live band at night.

Casa de la Trova offers excellent live Cuban music in an open-air patio, while Afro Cuban dance and music can be found at Palenque de los Congos Reales .

Hostal Oasis - Trinidad Rentals - El Oasis guesthouse was the founder in Trinidad of the casas particulares, since 1994. At present, there are hundreds of hostels, but in the middle of the nineties, those existed could be counted on the fingers of one hand. Today, the competition is hard, but El Oasis has already its name and prestige both in Trinidad and all over the world.

The greatest compensation for me and my son, Ricardo, is to see our gests satisfied. I am a technician in Hotel Reception and Gastronomic Service, on the other hand, my son is a technician in Food Production. Both my son and I speak English, French and Italian as well. We can offer the service you deserve thanks to our knowledge and experience.

We offer facilities in order to provide children, guests with pets and physical handicaps with accommodations. Also we have a parking lot.

The house is a colonial construction from 1850. It has been remodeled and new modern elements have been also included in order to provide our guests with more comfort. The house has three rooms for rent. There is a vast interior courtyard under the shadow of leafy fruit trees, such as a climbing grapevine and a passion fruit tree. Also you we’ll find a wide terrace upstairs from where you can have a wonderful view of the mountains and the city. A pair of binoculars will be at your disposal for you to enjoy the view.

An honorable mention deserves the plants growing in El Oasis. They have won their space and live together in harmony with people. Such is the case that the garden won the title National Excellency Yard of Cuban Urban Agriculture.

This means that you’ll enjoy vegetables and fruits cultivated in the same house, hundred percent natural; and also you will be attended on by defenders of the environment and champions of sustainable farming.

In El Oasis guesthouse you will be attended on quite naturally.
